Terms of Service
These terms of service apply to all registered participants and activity attendees of the Canterbury Chinese Swimming Training Classes (CCNS). Swimming and related activities carry inherent risks, so participants are advised to make informed decisions.
- Participants must adhere to CCNS learning requirements and complete the exercises outlined in the training program. Due to individual differences, CCNS does not guarantee that participants will learn to swim.
- Participants must ensure they are in good health and free from medical conditions unsuitable for swimming. If necessary, participants should provide a recent health check report, including but not limited to skin, heart, blood pressure, and mental health examinations. Those deemed unfit to swim by a doctor cannot register. Common disqualifying conditions include:
- Skin diseases
- Heart disease
- Hypertension
- Mental disorders
- Epilepsy
- Conjunctivitis
- Sudden illnesses or pregnancy
- Participants must obtain the consent of the coach or on-site personnel before entering or leaving the pool and strictly follow their instructions. Any discomfort must be promptly reported, and participants should call for help loudly when necessary.
- Concealment of health issues is prohibited. Participants bear responsibility for accidents resulting from undisclosed health problems.
- Accidents or discomfort caused by the participant’s health conditions (e.g., illness, injury, infection) during training are their responsibility. Outside class hours, the safety of participants and minors is the responsibility of their guardians.
- Swimming lessons may involve necessary and appropriate physical contact. If participants or their guardians have concerns, please notify the coordinator in advance.
- All activity participants are considered fully capable of civil conduct. CCNS, coaches, organizers, and sponsors are not liable for damages unless directly attributable to the coach.
- Guardians of minors must accept risks and responsibilities during the activity. Proxy registrants must ensure the registered individual is informed of and agrees to these terms.
- Participants assume the risks associated with swimming activities.
User Agreement
- Teacher Assignments CCNS will assign teachers for group or private lessons based on participants’ needs. In cases of force majeure or operational adjustments, CCNS will arrange alternative teachers to minimize the impact on participants.
- Registration and Payment Upon registration confirmation, a bill will be issued. Fees are charged based on the total number of sessions in a learning period (semester or holiday). Fees must be paid before the course starts or before the bill’s due date. Registrations with overdue payments will be considered invalid, and CCNS reserves the right to cancel them.
- Specified Teacher Services For private lessons, participants who request a specific teacher must pay an additional fee of $12 NZD per hour (subject to cost adjustments). This fee is non-refundable.
- If a specified teacher cannot be arranged due to force majeure, participants can choose one of the following options:
- Substitute teacher or reschedule
- Retain the full amount as credit for future use
- Classroom Discipline To ensure order and safety, CCNS implements a three-warning system:
- First warning: Verbal reminder
- Second warning: Leave the pool for 5 minutes
- Third warning: Dismissal from the day’s class; related fees will not be retained or refunded
- Additional Costs Entry fees for swimming facilities, personal training equipment, and competition fees are borne by participants. CCNS course fees do not include these costs.
- Class Timings Participants must arrive 5 minutes early and leave within 10 minutes after class. Any accidents during extended stays are the responsibility of participants or their guardians.
